To All swirl campers & parents:

Welcome and Welcome Back to the Camp Swirl Family!
We are SO excited to give all of you an AMAZING summer iy"H!
My staff and I are busy planning, ordering supplies, and getting pumped to give you a packed day EVERY day filled with fun, stimulating, age-appropriate activities! Camp Swirl is a home away from home where friendship and wonderful memories are found:)

important information:

Camp dates

1st Half: June 29th-July 21st
2nd Half: July 22nd-August 13th
There is no Camp July 2nd: Shiva asar B’Tamuz (girls have a harder time fasting (in my opinion:)) and do not want to make my staff work on a fast day.
Half Day (1pm Dismissal) on July 22nd: Erev Tisha B’av
No Camp on July 23rd: Tisha B’av

schedule: drop-off & pick-up

Camp Swirl is located at 116 Slade Ave Baltimore, MD 21208.
The girls will enter through the front doors of the building.
Monday-Thursday: Drop Off begins at 9:15am and pickup will begin at 3:50pm to ensure a 9:30am start and 4pm finish to the day. Starting 4:15 there is a $25 late fee.
Friday: drop-off is 9:15am and pick-up is 1pm. After 1:15pm, there is a $25 late fee.
This year we will be swimming again at the gorgeous Coppermine Pool at Green Valley on Mondays and Wednesdays. We will be leaving camp at 1:15 pm and returning to camp at around 2:50 pm. The address of the pool is 1220 Saffell Rd, Reisterstown, MD 21136.
On Tuesdays the girls will be swimming at the Dinovitzer’s pool with their own age group and will receive 15 minutes of instructional swim.

  • Camp Bag
  • Shopping Bag for wet bathing suit
  • Brush for after Swimming: there is no borrowing brushes in camp. From my experience, this is a MUST. I can’t count how many campers ask me if I had a brush they could use.
  • Water Shoes
  • Bathing Suit
  • Cover Up
  • Towel
  • Sunscreen
  • Change of clothes for after swim: don’t forget undergarments - many parents had to bring this item to camp for their girls who forgot to pack this regularly. Maybe put 10 pairs in the camp bag as backup just in case she forgets to pack this one morning.
  • Socks and Sneakers: any length sock
  • Curling Iron for Salon Swirl: other supplies will be provided by camp (you can check out this one: https://a.co/d/014W8636)
  • Lots of water bottles, or a water bottle that can be refilled!
  • Lunch
  • Snacks
  • Smock: there is professional painting at camp. The girls will ruin their outfits if they do not have a smock that covers their entire outfit. A large men’s shirt is a great idea. If a girl does not bring a smock, or doesn’t want to wear one, we cannot be responsible for damage to their clothes!
  • Leggings: for exercise activities
    *PLEASE REMEMBER THAT CAMP SWIRL EXPECTS ALL GIRLS TO COVER THEIR KNEES AND ELBOWS DURING REGULAR ACTIVITIES.
  • Labeled Siddur

Lost & found

There will be a lost and found table in the lobby. At the end of each week the girls can claim their lost items. Anything left there after Friday is hefker.
Things do get lost in camp. We are not responsible for any missing items that are not on the lost and found table.

payment

The remaining balance, after deposit, is now due.
For those coming for one half, that is $475. If you are coming for the full summer that is $1,250.

tips

Tips are optional but really appreciated.A week before the end of each ½ a list of staff members and recommended tip amounts will be sent out. Tips must be given directly to the staff member by you or your daughter. I do not deliver tips or accept payments to allocate for you as this did not work out in the past.

trips

Trips are every Thursday this summer iy”H. If there is a waiver to fill out, you can go to the forms page for a link to complete it. Please remember to fill out waivers so your daughter can enjoy the full amount of time on the trip. Camp T-Shirts MUST be worn on trips to help me watch everyone. If your daughter forgets her t-shirt she will be given an extra one to wear but I can’t guarantee the size. As with many camps, there is a no money policy on trips. Girls may not buy drinks, Icees, snacks or souvenirs on trips. By doing this, everyone can just enjoy the ultimate fun of the AMAZING place we took the girls!
The date and time of our major trip will be confirmed in a few weeks.
We will be going on additional trips during the 9 days instead of swim.

sick policy

Please do not send your daughter to camp sick. If your daughter has fever or uncomfortable symptoms that require Motrin or Tylenol to function, please keep her home till she’s symptom free for 24 hours.

lice check

This year campers and staff members will need to bring a form signed by a professional lice checker saying they do not have lice or nits. You can fill out the form below.

Middos & Appropriate conversations

Camp Swirl is a place where every camper should feel safe, welcome, comfortable to be herself, and happy. There is no bullying, snobbing out, or any meanness allowed in camp. The Camp Swirl environment is a place of growth and happiness where we expect every girl to speak and act accordingly. Although the girls are coming from different schools and may need time to get to know all the new faces, before long these camp friends will become like one happy family as I’ve seen in the past! If your daughter has an issue with any girls for any reason, please reach out to me and bring it to my attention!
